The Weld Preparation Mills are designed as a tool to produce 45° edges for weldment prep work. The Weld Preparation Tool may also be utilized in a face milling application. This tool is unique in that it utilizes the 100° corner of CNMG 432 style inserts. This is very economical in that it will allow you to use all eight corners of the CNMG 432 insert. After using the 80° corners in your turning applications, simply re-use the same inserts on the Weld Preparation Mill tool and now you have created a cost savings on inserts by doubling insert life.
